We’re always on the lookout for curious minds and committed collaborators.
The Human Evolutionary EcoPhysiology (HEEP) research group is a dynamic, interdisciplinary collaboration based between the University of Zurich and Loughborough University. Led by Dr. Colin Shaw and Dr. Danny Longman, our group welcomes Master’s students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and visiting scholars with a passion for evolutionary anthropology, human adaptation, and environmental health.
We study how human biology has been shaped by evolution—and how today’s rapidly changing environments continue to influence our health, cognition, and physiology. From experimental fieldwork in forests and cities to theoretical work on adaptation and mismatch, we value diverse methods and fresh perspectives.
